Hey people, I have no idea where to post this....so I'm sticking it here. There doesn't seem to be a general board anymore like I remember. Anyway. I'm wanting to know if any folks on here have ever tried their hand at growing weed...indoors preferably. I know we blind people aren't inncocent and stupid like the rest of the world thinks....so if any of you have indeed had experience with growing marijuana indoors, or know someone who has or have any information, please let me know. If you don't want to comment publicly, send me a private message or something...just let me know! smiles. Take carre everybvody!

I would be very, very careful about posting questions like that. I personally don't think the stuff should be illegal in the least, but unfortunately the power hungry mongers we have for a government don't seem to agree. Seriously though, best of luck finding helpful answers, and I'm not saying that sarcastically, either.

In some states, if you are a care giver for a patient who receives medical marajuana, it's legal. So, I don't see how the post itself can be questionable. I agree with Ocean Dream about legalizing it across the board, but that's off topic, so won't comment further.

yeah. I wasn't really sure where the Zone BBS drew the line between a discussion and trying to aid in a drug operation. always better to be safe than sorry, at least in most cases.

Post 5 by AngelKisses (An angel with no Halo) on Wednesday, 22-Feb-2012 17:02:19

Yes, I am not asking this in an illegal way...there are about 16 states its legal for patients to grow their own. My state is SOON to be one of them, so I am obtaining any info I can. I am a rather sick lil angel (if arkansas isn't legal soon I'm moving to a legal state!) I am not currently breaking any laws by obtaining info on growing....i jsut want to know if any one on here has done it, and to get their experience as a blind individual...helpful knowledge and stuff. educational purposes only. *smiles* AND later this year the bill is supposed to be introduced to try to get it federally legal.

but, if people don't want to announce it to everyone that they have had experience, that is why i asked them to private message me instead

I would just like to point out that, even though it is legal in your state, it is illegal in your country, which means its still illegal. Even in California, they still have to hide from the FDA and other government agencies because it is illegal. it may be legal in California, but in the United states, its not. Plus, it is one of the most difficult crops to grow. You can't just plant it in your garden and have it grow you joints.

At the bottom of this webpage, it states that this website is copyright by A T Guys, LLC. If I am not mistaken, I believe this company is located within the sate of Michigan where it is legal to use marijuana for medical purposes. Therefore, I do not believe a simple discussion about using or growing marijuana for informational purposes is illegal. Even if using and growing marijuana is illegal on a federal level, if the states are able to pass laws that allow the use of marijuana for medical purposes, then how big of an issue is it anyway? If it really was illegal on a federal level, then I do not understand how the states would be able to pass laws permitting it in the first place.

The same way they can pass laws against guns when the federal government has a law allowing them. They are two separate intities.

Well, I didn't ask about the legality of the stuff. I know about the legal ramifications without being told. If your state is legal, the feds don't waste money to prosicute you. Not for using or growing. They went after the state dispensaries in California...but that is overturned now, or nearly so. The feds basically said yes you can have your marijuana, you just don't have a way to get it from a safe dispensarie....basically pushing people back to having to get their medicine on the streets where there is no safety at all! Anyway, doesn't matter if it's federally illegal, as I mentioned in an earlier response, the bill is going up this year to try to get that very thing changed making it NOT federally illegal..

But sill, I ain't askin about the legality. Just wanna know if people out there have had experience in growingthe herb and have any info on a blind perspective.

Oy some people. The federal government passes many laws but the states can pass their own laws. Yall need to read or learn before posting. Personally Pot is not the worse thing in the world, and correct me if I am wrong just because its legal in a state to purchase it, I don't think you can grow it. Just imagine the many people that would sell it? Anyways just my thoughts. We have bigger things in this country to worry about than pot. Hell Let the Federal government make it legal and tax the hell out of it like they do every thing else. Again my opinion only. B.

Yes, correction...If you are a green card holder, you can either grow it yourself or assign a caregiver to grow it for you...or just buy it from teh dispensaries. I know I saw specifically in many of the laws, patiens are allow to grow or assign someone to grow for them.

Post 12 by OceanDream (An Ocean of Thoughts) on Friday, 24-Feb-2012 11:42:23

that's interesting. I wonder what being a green card holder has anything to do with it. But anyway, as I said earlier, we shouldn't have to worry about posting about it, discussing it; whatever. it's sad that the government will crush a growout when people are on the streets dying from meth overdoses. One of the many ways the government has its priorities screwed, in my opinion. anyway, I digress.

ocean it is not a green card likeimmigrants in america must have to be legal. it is one that is given in the states where people get medical marijuana to say they can have it. some states make it green and some have other colors. i don't get how growing it would be any more dificult for blind people than for sighted ones. personally i kill plants of all kinds on a regular basis. if it doesn't make noise i forget to feed and water. anyway, i bet there are good general places on the big bad wonderful net where you can get information.

Hi Angel_kisses (what a pretty user name).

I've been involved in growing it a couple of times in my life.

The first time was in the early sixties when we didn't know much about it. We just planted the seeds in the ground like marigolds or something. And, they grew! Boy how they grew. And they produced some of the best flower tops ever.

The second time was about ten years ago, and my part was very small, just checking to see if the lights were on, and to turn them on if they weren't. There was several of us and everybody else knew a lot more about it than I did.

I do know you have to get the right kind of lights and plant supplements. And they are pretty expensive.

You could probably google "growing marijuana" and get quite a few hits.

Good luck.

Bob

p.s. I don't smoke it anymore. Hate it!

Just resurrecting this topic to say that I have nothing wrong with a discussion like this on here. Your mileage may vary.

Post 16 by forereel (Just posting.) on Thursday, 20-Dec-2012 0:00:13

In warm climates it is easy to grow, such as California where we could grow it as Bob did, by simply planting it.
It is much like anything you grow, good soil, water, but not overly, lots of sun, and light, and it does well.
If you move it inside, and that is where you'll have to grow it, you'll need light, so large flood lights, and you'll need to create sunlight as if it were outside, and dark as well.
Advantage to green house, or inside, os warth, or better climate.
I don't know much about the drying process, but the person I knew well would use the oven on low heat, or the flood lights inside to dry it.
You don't want it to dry to quickly, so if you've got time allowing it to dry out naturally is best, but if not low heat.

I personally would never use it (in factI thinkt e stff smells like fried dirty socks when smoked), but I agree that it ought to be legal. It's one of if not the least dangerous drug out there, especially when you look at stuff like Meth or Cocaine or even alcohol. Pot may not be completely harmless but it's better than those others. And just think how qickly the country could get out of debt just from pot taxes alone, always assuming of course that the government didn't spend it all on ridiculous projectslike the Bridge to Nowhere in Alaska.

Actually, sense we are on a growing subject, it doesn't all smell the same, nor taste the same.
Like many other plant types, there are several varieties, colors, and strengths.
Some has a vary mild taste and a sweet scent if burned.

Yeah, and some types of it stink like shit!
I agree with Bryan. Though, alcohol is harmless if drank in moderation.
